Thank you for visiting the PBS Technology Conference website. This year’s Conference took place at the Las Vegas Convention Center from April 9-11, 2008. PBS also co-presented the all day Ennes Workshop with SBE and NAB on Saturday April 12 which helped kick-off the NAB Broadcast Engineering Conference.

The PBS Technology Conference is the premier annual gathering for broadcast engineers, information technology and traffic professionals, as well as General Managers and senior executives within public television. The Conference serves as a forum for education, professional development, and exposure to new ideas and technologies, as well as a chance to network and visit with friends and colleagues.

Traffic Jam 20th Anniversary

As the famous song starts ‘It was 20 years ago today…’

Well, in this case not literally, but it was 1988 and the very first Traffic Conference (aka Jam) was held at the Old Town Holiday Inn of Alexandria, VA.  While there had been other meetings, never before had a national one convened just for Traffic/Operations professionals. Not long afterward, the Traffic Advisory Committee was created to help raise the profile of and advocate for our community. Conferences were held bi-annually for the first 10 years, annually after that, and ultimately combined with the Engineering meeting into the Technology Conference you attend today.  Please join us in saluting all Traffic/Operations professionals and especially those initial attendees, many of whom are still going strong!
